  2. Civil 3d Subassembly Composer 2014

Subassemblies are the building blocks of corridor design, crucial for the development of roads, highways, and railways. AutoCAD Civil 3D users can compose complex subassemblies visually, using a powerful yet easy-to-use Subassembly Composer, which installs directly with Civil 3D. Learn how to use the Subassembly Composer to create subassemblies that meet your specific design requirements, in this course with Christopher Roberts, PE. Follow along as Christopher shows how to define a custom subassembly and add parameters, points, links, and shapes. See a preview of the subassembly geometry, and test how the subassembly behaves with different target values and conditions. Then find out how to make your subassemblies even more powerful with Visual Basic code.

Christopher provides a 'cookbook' of recipes for adding decision making, enumerations, switches, and variables to subassemblies, for more complex logic and automation. Last but not least, get some additional resources for working with the built-in PKT files, style guides, and the geometric looping function new in 2016. Instructor. Christopher Roberts, PE, is a maniac about technology.

Learn how to create custom subassemblies for land development and transportation design with the Subassembly Composer, installed with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

He holds a bachelor of science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a master of business administration in sustainable business from Green Mountain College. Christopher is an Autodesk Certified Instructor, and has taught different types of technology to hundreds of engineers.

His focus is always on how to be better than where you started; currently he is focused on making technology a competitive differentiator for his firm. Christopher works as the technical program manager for STEWART, a civil, transportation, geomatics, structural engineering, and sports and event design firm headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina.

3h 11m 44s. Course Transcript - Instructor My name is Christopher Roberts, and I'm the manager of software development and design technology with Steward. I'd like to welcome you to this course, where we'll cover creating our own subassemblies for use in Autocad Civil 3D. One of the most powerful pieces of software you're likely not using yet for land development and transportation design is the Autocad Civil 3D Subassembly Composer. The Subassembly Composer is a piece of software that installs directly with Autocad Civil 3D and allows for visual development of subassemblies for use in Civil 3D. In this course we'll look at the essentials you'll need to be able to compose your own subassemblies for use with Civil 3D corridors If you're brand new to Civil 3D, I would recommend watching Jeff Bartels' course, entitled Civil 3D Essentials Training and gaining some relevant experience using build in subassemblies before watching this course. I'm assuming here you already have a working knowledge of the software.
