Hi Wayan Krisnayuda, Thank you for posting your query in the Microsoft Community. As per the problem description you are unable to find 'mobile broadband' selection. Provide the following information: Do you get any error message? Are you using any third party security software? Has it ever worked earlier? I will help you with this issue.

I would suggest you to follow these methods. Method 1: Disable the security software temporarily. Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against virus and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Follow these steps: Step 1: Boot the computer in Safe mode with networking and check if the issue persists. Follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode. A) Press the ‘ Windows + C’ key on the keyboard. B) Click on settings, change pc settings and then general. C) Scroll down to advanced startup, click restart now. D) Click on troubleshoot, advanced options, Startup Settings.

E) Click restart, select safe mode with networking and then press enter. Note: Restart the computer to start in normal mode. Step 2: If the issue does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a to see if there is any software conflict as clean boot helps to eliminate software conflicts. Note: After performing the troubleshooting steps in clean boot, follow Step 3 from the link to start the computer to Normal startup mode. Method 3: Follow the steps from the article.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance with Windows. Hi Sandeep Ghatuary, In regards to your questions, below are my comments: Do you get any error message? No error message occured.

When I inserted the SIM to the unit, nothing happened. On PC Settings, there is no mobile broadband option. Only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options (On/Off) Are you using any third party security software? I am using Windows Defender alone. FYI, I did not installed Norton internet security or any other third party security software.

Has it ever worked earlier? It is a brand new unit that I got just 3 days ago. I just want to make sure before jumping straight to the defective unit. FYI, I have also tried to full refresh the unit which took quite some time to reinstall everything again. But after it is completed, I still could not see the mobile broadband option.

Beside hardware/ SIM slot defect/ failure, is it possible it is due to software/ application failure? Appreciate any help. Thank you in advance. Hi, I have the same problem with the Ativ 500 Smart PC.

The sim worked perfectly for a day then stopped working. I feel it was after the machine did various updates. Sometimes the device manager was showing an error with the Huwaei mobile driver. Then if I uninstalled it and scanned again, it would show a generic driver instead.

Then after a couple of times it would find it again correctly and install it. But then stuck again on Insert Sin even though there is one in there. Thanks, David. Hi, As you have tried most of the steps to correct the issue and still the issue persists you may go through the steps from the help article from ATIV Smart PC Pro and check if it helps. Refer the section: ATIV Smart PC Pro unable to get it to recognize the SIM card.

If the issue still persists you may contact Hardware supoort as the slot might be defective. Hope the information was helpful and do let us know if you need any assistance in the future. We will be glad to help.

Rohit Chettri Forum Moderator. Hi, For anyone that has this problem, I think there may be a fix on its way. My catalogue of problems with this one problem dramatically increased when the machine was switched for another unit which had exactly the same problem. However, Digicare (partners of Samsung) sent me a firmware fix that Samsung is about to release for this specific problem.

Its only been installed for a day but so far, so good. (a day isn't long to test, but normally the mobile hardware is lost every few hours, so I'm hoping this is it). The fix you are looking for is MU733Update12.103.17.10.00. On a side note, I'm incredibly impressed with Digicare. I thought they had closed the case and that my battles were now with Samsung and the retailer.

However, completely unprompted (and as a bit of a surprise) they emailed me and attached the fix which is about to be released. Very good customer service, which is becoming all too rare!

For the past few years I have been waiting for a digital art tool with the power and quality of the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro. This is a pro tool that is fully capable for the use of artists, especially artists who work outside of their studio.

Whether in coffee shops or drawing for clients on the go, it has the functionality of a cintiq and the power of a desktop computer, in a format comparable to an iPad. Intended to be one of the first pc’s launched with Windows 8, it has the removable keyboard that turns all of the new generation of laptops into tablets. ALthough conceptually it is an interesting idea and makes people feel that they are getting the full laptop value in a tablet, the execution and functionality is quite poor. The keyboard itself is poorly designed, clunky, heavy, and has a weak mechanism of attaching to the tablet screen.

It is not bluetooth, so you have to make sure it clicks in to the screen, which is also poorly designed and comes disconnected easily. The mouse pad I found to be almost useless. In short, ditch the keyboard. The tablet itself has a quite nice build.

The rounded edges and polished aluminum back give it the feel of an iPad. It’s streamlined, with well designed placement of inputs. With the addition of a USB 3.0, mini SD, and mini HDMI port, you have a good amount of available peripheral functionality. In comparison to an iPad (4th generation) it is nominally different in width and depth, but a few inches longer. What puts this tool beyond the iPad and most tablets, is that it is running a full operating system, Windows 8, in a format not much bigger than an iPad. I am an Apple user exclusively up until this point, so I have no input on Windows itself or Windows 8. It seems to be an attempt to merge a full operating system with tablet functionality, and I’m sure that there are some issues.

What I was looking for was something that could run full versions of my digital art software with wacom pen pressure inputs, like the ModBook. The ModBooks were a huge failure as they all overheated and died without any support from the builder. Only time will tell if the new Samsung’s will hold up. As a tool for artist, the Samsung really shines. Although the S-pen is billed as an additional element for note taking, I’ve customized my tablet to function solely as a drawing and painting tool. I’ve installed Corel Painter Lite, Painter 12, and Photoshop CS6, and removed a lot of the programs that came loaded with the program.

(One note if anyone buys this– it comes loaded with Norton and a couple other antivirus/security programs. The reviews of Windows Defender have been great, but you need to go in and turn this on. Afterwards, just get rid of the others.) The screen is a gorgeous, retina level display. For those of you who have used the Cintiq 12wx before, my goal was to find a tool to replace it. Whereas the Cintiq 12wx’s screen is dull and the image is buried behind thick glass, the lines drawn on the Samsung pop and shine, you can make out even light lines easily. I’ve used it for up to 5 or 6 hours, and the battery is still at 30-40% charge, which leads me to believe that the 9 hour life that they advertise is correct. The tablet has a built in S-pen, which is the tool I used for all of the drawings below.

You can also use a more full sized pen by Samsung, the Samsung Electronics Slate PC Digitizer Pen, or Wacom’s Penabled Tablet Pc Eraser Pen. Note: Intuos/Cintiq pens do not work on the tablet. If you need keyboard input, I’ve tested my Apple bluetooth with it, and it works great. For those of you interested, here are the full tech specs: I had a lot of time over the Holidays while at home to sketch and play with this, and I thought I would share a few sketches. In my previous post, you can also view a completed painting created with the Samsung and Corel Painter 12.

Samsung Drivers 700t

I believe this was my first sketch. I gave my little brother Eric, who is 5, my iPad to play with which kept him still enough for this drawing, which took about 15 minutes. The top photo is a shot of the drawing on the tablet taken with my iphone, the bottom the.jpg of the drawing. I’ll post a few more below. A Bluejay, An uncle who visited on Christmas day, and Louis CK. This was a quick one with the pastels in Corel Painter 12, of my nephew Kai (same as the painting in my previous post) in awe of all the presents under our Christmas tree.

Here is a little screen capture video. It doesn’t show too much, but in a minute and a half you can see one way of drawing with the tablet while using a reference, zooming in and out and rotating with gestures, and how responsive the tablet is while running a screen capture tool. The soundtrack was unfortunately not able to be edited.

Click on link below. Although I’m super excited to see how this tool holds up in the field as I bought it to be used for my job as a digital caricaturist, I haven’t had a chance to test it out. Whether it can handle hours and hours of nonstop work while printing and sharing an external display is yet to be seen.

A final note on price- Amazon has varied the price on this from $1,199 to $1700 over the past couple of weeks. At the time of this post, the cheapest available is $1500, which is $300 more than necessary.

Hello, Can you rest your hand on the screen while drawing? I guess if you disable touch from Win8 settings, you could still use the pen. But do you know whether there is a way to keep the hand gestures enabled along with the pen, and all the other tuch events disabled? When touch is enabled, keeping the pen close to the screen automatically enables palm-rejection, and you can rest your hand while drawing. But in order to do that, each time you take your hand away, you would have to first approach the screen with the pen -without tocuhing the screen- and only then the palm rejection is activated, and then you can rest your hand.

Normally, first i prefer to rest my hand and then bring the pen to the screen, and that messes up with my drawing. And I do prefer to be able to keep my palm on and off the screen, instead of hovering it around not to lose the palm-rejection.
