Audacity Noise Gate Plugin
Noise Gate plug-in for Audacity 1.3 Features:. Gated audio can be reduced in the range 0 to -96 dB. Attack/Decay variable from 10 to 1000ms. (up to 10 seconds with text input).

Stereo tracks may be processed individually or as linked stereo. Includes utility to show peak level of audio, ignoring DC Off-set. Optional frequency limited gating (for hiss removal).

Cant wait how good it is at bringing sounds to zero db after X db is reached muhuhahahahaha. (will it do, there is the huge heavy hairy question!) Yay:D it does just what i wanted.nearly:P;):D.
